No matter your departure or destination, SkyMiles® offers ways to make the journey enjoyable with different ways to upgrade your ticket beyond using money. All SkyMiles Members can use miles to upgrade during and after booking on delta.com, in addition to calling Delta Reservations. Plus, all Medallion® Members are eligible for Complimentary Upgrades, with Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members also having access to Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates through exclusive Choice Benefits. And now Medallion Members can select Seat Preferences for Delta Comfort+ Complimentary Upgrades on eligible future flights. For All SkyMiles Members: Use Miles to Upgrade 

Upgrade While Booking a Flight:

You can use miles to upgrade to Delta One®, Delta Premium Select, First Class or Delta Comfort+® for eligible flights within the U.S. 50 while purchasing a ticket* either at delta.com or with Delta Reservations. If your reservation is eligible for an upgrade, you’ll see the option to upgrade in your Trip Summary. Learn more about how to upgrade while booking a flight.

Upgrade a Flight You’ve Already Booked:

It’s easier than ever before to upgrade your seat on your own using miles on delta.com or the Fly Delta app on nearly all Delta marketed and operated flights. Learn more about how you can upgrade through My Trips or the seat map.

If you aren’t able to upgrade your seat using miles on delta.com or the Fly Delta app, Delta Reservations can help you upgrade your seat on most Delta-operated flights and certain partner-operated flights. Learn more about how a SkyMiles Representative can help you today.

 
For Medallion Members: Your Benefits Give You Upgrades

Unlimited Complimentary Upgrades:

Medallion Members and one travel companion are eligible for Unlimited Complimentary Upgrades to First Class and Delta Comfort+, as well as the domestic Delta One experience as part of your Medallion Benefits. Upgrades to First Class are available within most regions in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Bermuda, Central America, and Northern South America. Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ are available within the U.S., Canada, Latin America/Caribbean, and Asia Pacific markets including China and Hong Kong. Medallion Members can also now select their Seat Preferences for Delta Comfort+ Complimentary Upgrades on eligible future flights if they were not already cleared into Delta Comfort+. Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates:

Upgrade Certificates are available exclusively for Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members as a part of your Choice Benefits. Upgrade Certificates may be requested and confirmed, subject to availability, when you book your ticket. Global Upgrade Certificates, available exclusively for Diamond Medallion Members, offer upgrades on both international and domestic flights with Delta and select partner airlines. Regional Upgrade Certificates, available for Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members, offer upgrades on the same routes as Medallion Complimentary Upgrades, including all flights with First Class, the domestic Delta Premium Select experience and the domestic Delta One experience. Upgrade Certificates can now be used on Delta Award Travel tickets and Miles + Cash tickets on Delta-operated flights, and there is now no limit to the number of companions you can have1. 1Companions of the Certificate holder must be traveling on the same or linked reservation as the Certificate holder. Each companion will require their own Certificate to be upgraded, but there is no limit on the number of companions the Certificate holder can have.
