EARN MILES WITH DELTA

REWARDING YOU
FOR YOUR LOYALTY

With the SkyMiles program, you earn miles and Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) when you fly to any of our nearly 330 worldwide destinations. Plus, you rack up miles and MQMs faster with select fare class and Medallion status bonuses.

BETTER AT REWARDING YOU

Members earn miles toward Award Travel based on ticket price (base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees) for Delta-marketed or Delta-ticketed flights, instead of distance flown. So when you pay a higher price, you will be rewarded with more miles — up to 75,000 per ticket. Members also enjoy more Award Seats available at the lowest redemption levels and more redemption levels overall as well as new redemption options, making it easier to redeem your miles. See below to learn how you earn miles for travel .

The redeemable miles earned toward Award Travel differ from Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs). MQMs are used to determine Medallion status and will continue to be based on distance flown and fare class paid.

The chart below lists the miles and MQMs you earn according to fare class for travel on a Delta-marketed (indicated with a DL in the flight number) or Delta-ticketed flight.

Ticket price eligible for mileage accrual includes base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excludes government-imposed taxes and fees.

For purposes of mileage credit, “distance flown” means the calculated distance between origin and destination, as determined by Delta in its sole discretion, regardless of the actual distance traveled on any individual flight.

(1) Some exception fares will earn miles based on a percentage of distance flown as determined by fare class paid. Learn More.

(2) Miles earned for base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, excluding government-imposed taxes and fees. Miles earned per USD spent includes Medallion mileage bonus. Subject to a maximum of 75,000 miles per ticket.

(3) Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) are used as a counter to determine SkyMiles Medallion status. Flights and itineraries eligible for MQMs will earn a minimum of 500 MQMs per segment. For MQMs earned on Delta-ticketed flights that are partner-marketed, please refer to delta.com/partnerairlines.

(4) Available on flights operated by Air France, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia.

(5) Members who purchase an upgrade through the seat map after booking will be eligible for mileage accrual based on the total amount spent in USD and MQM accrual based on fare class flown.
Is this a Delta-marketed flight?

Not sure if you're on a Delta-marketed flight? There's an easy way to check. The marketing carrier is determined by the two-letter airline code in the flight number. The flight numbers for Delta-marketed flights begin with DL, which means the flight qualifies for our mileage crediting rules. If you are instead flying a partner-marketed flight, which will begin with a partner's unique two-letter airline code (for example, a flight number beginning with VS is a Virgin Atlantic-marketed flight), the miles, MQMs and MQDs you earn will vary by carrier.

Please see earning with airline partners and then select an airline to view each carrier's full accrual chart.
